The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centre and the North Iowa Area Modest Enterprise Growth Centre (SBDC) are proud to announce Matt Curtis of Wayne’s Ski & Cycle, Mason Town, as the winner of the 2022 Neal Smith Entrepreneur of the Calendar year Award.

The Neal Smith Entrepreneur of the Calendar year Award is introduced by America’s SBDC Iowa, and honors an Iowa entrepreneur who has been in small business a least of a few a long time and has been appreciably assisted by an Iowa Compact Company Development Heart. The award was founded with a twin purpose—to honor extensive-time Iowa Congressman Neal Smith for his many years of company to Iowa’s tiny enterprises, and to realize Iowa’s business people, who are the driving force powering Iowa’s economic advancement.

Brook Boehmler, Regional Director of the North Iowa Area SBDC, nominated Curtis for the Neal Smith Award, stating, “Matt has labored to hold Wayne’s Ski & Cycle nimble and relevant. This has involved discovering new company niches, creating a tradition of staff obtain-in, and transferring the organization locale back again to downtown Mason City. Matt is also noteworthy for his help of his fellow entrepreneurs through the Pappajohn Center’s entrepreneurial programming and mentorship. Matt Curtis acquired Wayne’s Ski & Cycle in 2004.
