Alonzo Wiley was a charismatic, enjoyable-loving giver who, relations say, poured himself into his family members, his close friends and his small business — a barber store and salon referred to as The Grooming Gallery.
It can be that generosity that has left all those who understood Wiley, 35, puzzled by the news that he was shot and killed Dec. 5 at a Harvey lodge, possibly all through a theft.

“It was senseless,” Wiley’s niece, Azona Wiley, 27, mentioned Thursday. “If another person wanted a thing from him, he would have presented it. Even if you robbed him, you didn’t have to kill him.”
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Business office investigators arrested Raymond Lee, 36, of New Orleans, on Dec. 28, and booked him with next-degree murder in Alonzo Wiley’s dying.
Wiley’s relatives and mates say they will not know Lee and aren’t guaranteed how or if he understood Wiley. Authorities have not divulged the evidence that allegedly hyperlinks Lee to the killing.
