Mark Heineke, the promoting manager at College of Nebraska Press, died unexpectedly on July 24, a week prior to his 52nd birthday. The cause of dying was not disclosed.
In an electronic mail despatched to associates of the Affiliation of University Presses by government director Peter Berkery, Heineke was lauded as “a superb coworker, speedy with a hearty giggle and constantly available with assistance and commiseration. He was a diehard Michigan Wolverines and Chicago Cubs enthusiast, and he also arrived to enjoy Husker volleyball.”
Berkery additional that Heineke was “passionate about publications and primarily tunes and would usually sing a number of bars if a tune was stated in dialogue. He was a robust advocate for university presses and worked tirelessly to endorse the institution of publishing.”
Heineke graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992 and earned an M.A. in English in 1999 from George Washington University. In accordance to his LinkedIn profile, Heineke introduced his career in publishing at the University of Chicago Push in 2000, and served as associate internet marketing director and promotions director. He then moved on to Northern Illinois College Push, the place he served as editor-in-main for two several years (2011-2013). He also worked for Getty Publications in Los Angeles for 4 decades as revenue and advertising manager ahead of going again to the Midwest in 2017 to serve as the University of Nebraska’s advertising and marketing manager right up until his death.
