Bozoma Saint John
landed a dream task as chief marketing and advertising officer of
Netflix Inc.
The streaming big spends more than $2 billion a year on promoting. Entertainment “is my sweet place,” she states.
The firm, based mostly in Los Gatos, Calif., is the 10th employer and sixth industry through Ms. Saint John’s prolonged vocation. Bias frequently prompted prior career adjustments, she says.
“I hit a wall or a ceiling, and I could not break via,’’ she carries on. “As a Black girl, I have had to do the job a lot tougher to thrive.’’
The self-proclaimed “badass” is now Netflix’s most senior Black govt.
Supportive mentors solidified Ms. Saint John’s strong willpower to shift up by going on. “My private board members have performed the job of supporting me to rely on my instincts,’’ she claims.
