Xmas Magic was in the air on Thursday, Dec. 9 as preschool kids from all above Moapa Valley communities gathered at the Moapa Valley Recreation/Senior Centre in Overton to adorn cookies and have a go to with Santa.

Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick gives funding for this exciting annual event which is informally named “Cookies with the Commissioner.” Her goal is to collect equally the little ones and the seniors in the community and give them the opportunity to work and engage in together and love each individual other’s firm.
Kirkpatrick was in attendance at the party, attending to the youngsters and speaking to grownups alike.

As the occasion began, thrilled preschool small children collected in the lobby of the developing. They were greeted by Elmer (Lopez) the Elf and ushered into the major area which experienced been decorated superbly for Christmas. Cookies have been handed out by Angelo, bakery supervisor at Lin’s Marketplace. The young children were being also presented with frosting and sprinkles to adorn these treats.

As the young children began their mouth watering, colourful creations the seniors also collected in the home and enjoyed the sounds of pleasure and laughter coming from the youngsters.

Immediately after cookies, it was time for lunch. In correct kid trend the commissioner and other heart workers served the small kinds chicken nuggets, mini corn canine, mac and cheese, tater tots, and veggies. To prime it off the mother and father and seniors in attendance had been served roast beef and mashed potatoes.

Not to be outdone by Elmer the Elf, Santa created his visual appeal. Santa was introduced by Metro Sergeant Keegan Doty. The children excitedly shouted as the major male bounced into the room.
