JACKSON, Miss out on. (WJTV) – Jackson Condition College (JSU) is presenting a new program that assists area women mature their enterprise and implement for federal funding.

The United States Little Small business Administration (SBA) declared in January 2021 that grant funding would make 20 new women’s organization facilities throughout the country. Just one of these locations is inside the Higher education of Business enterprise at JSU. The Women’s Enterprise Center (WBC) features one particular-on-1 counseling, coaching, networking and mentoring.

“We consider to train them how to access funds and how to do federal government contracting. It’s also vital that they know how to produce a enterprise prepare if they are just commencing a modest small business,” reported WBC Director Sydney Brown.

The program formally started on Friday, February 4, but Brown stated they’ve been encouraging smaller small business homeowners for months just before the formal launch.

“We have been serving women of all ages business people given that August. We’ve accomplished quite a few workshops that ended up geared toward women business owners. Our target is to support females entrepreneurs in starting off, expanding and increasing their smaller enterprise,” claimed Brown.

The center has about 150 active, woman entrepreneurs of color. Compact organizations of all forms are encouraged to be a part of the cost-free software.

To be part of the system, business owners must personal and management at least 51% of their small business. Nonprofits are not suitable.
