Staying an achieved singer, it is very ironic that JK Labajo does not get pleasure from acquiring awards and recognition.
This he unveiled in an on the web press conference for Janine Berdin’s most recent single, “Pagod Na Ako,” very last Monday, Nov. 15. Labajo is the arranger and producer of Berdin’s music.
“It feels pleasant but at the exact time I never like it. [It’s like] if you consider to assess me to all of the true legends in the OPM market, I have created very little but a dot in this vast circle,” Labajo unveiled.
While he feels elated each and every time he gets an award, Labajo feels he’s not seriously into “accolades and names.”
“Marami akong awards na hindi tinanggap, actually. Since back then da-drama-drama ako, so feeling ko napaka-cool kapag hindi mo tanggapin ‘yung awards,” he stated.
(There have been a great deal of awards I did not settle for in the earlier, truly. Simply because again then, I was getting this form of drama, so I felt like it is cook not to settle for awards.)
But he is obvious in his decision to shun away obtaining awards. His reason? “I wasn’t carrying out it for any of people things.”
“I wasn’t building tunes for the sole function of currently being known as Asia’s next singing guy or the next whole performer or the subsequent what ever. I’m not immediately after those issues,” Labajo mentioned.
For him, undertaking songs is “really all about once again remaining in a position to execute the ideas” and “being in a position to put out the matter that [he wants] to set out and share with the people today.”
“Once I launch a thing, at the time I put [out] the track in public, that is not my track any longer. That’s the people’s song,” he stated. “For case in point, ‘Buwan’ is the Filipino people’s music. It’s everyone’s track. And which is what makes me happy… when I appear again and I see how peoples are consuming, listening to ‘Buwan’ and some tracks that I make. That’s what makes me delighted, not the awards.”
As he arranged and generated Berdin’s single, does this necessarily mean he’s now on a comeback trail in tunes?
“No, in fact,” he insisted. “I’m just really savoring my time. I do not know. I guess…
