The demand for COVID-19 screening has reached “unprecedented” amounts in the Bay Place, a public wellness officer in San Jose explained Monday.

At the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds screening web page Monday, strains of vehicles wrapped all around the facility as people today waited to get tested.

“Our objective was to get up to 5,000 a day listed here at our most significant travel-via website, and very last week, on Thursday, we scheduled 5,000 appointments,” Assistant Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Jennifer Tong reported. “That is up from nearer to 1,500 that we had been undertaking before the omicron surge.”
