BLACKSBURG — New Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry finalized his defensive mentor personnel on Tuesday afternoon by endorsing Pierson Prioleau to be the team safeties coach. 

Prioleau has been on the team’s personnel as the director of participant improvement for the protection since 2019. He was a a few-12 months starter for Frank Beamer in the late 90’s right before getting a prolonged profession in the NFL that involved a Super Bowl in with the New Orleans Saints. 

He acquired into coaching in 2011 as the defensive coordinator at Radford Significant College. 

The defensive assignments on the coaching employees will search various below Pry as it experienced in past several years. New defensive coordinator Chris Marve will mentor the inside linebackers, Derek Jones will mentor the cornerbacks. Shawn Quinn will coach the nickel and SAM linebackers and J.C. Cost will mentor the defensive line. 

Pry has already said Tech will have a a lot more standard 4-3 defense next year.
