‘That minor bit can be a lifeline’: Nearby companies acquire ReVive Recovery Grants

The City of Chapel Hill announced on Jan. 13 that it issued 66 ReVive Restoration Grants to area corporations and entrepreneurs in partnership with The Chamber For a Bigger Chapel Hill-Carrboro.

The grants, ranging from $1,000 to $4,500, are part of a broader economic restoration strategy for the city called ReVive Chapel Hill. 

In total, Chapel Hill and Carrboro organizations and nonprofits gained $162,250 in grants via the application. The grant resources arrived from the federal federal government as a result of the American Rescue Program Act.

Together with supplying grants to help pandemic recovery, the method aims to facilitate the creation of more minority-owned corporations and market little businesses by means of social and classic media.

Much more than 70 % of the grant recipients were women-owned enterprises, and 44 % ended up owned by persons of coloration.

The Town, the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership and The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro obtained 88 applicants, who have been evaluated on conditions these kinds of as economic stories and sustainability.

The ReVive system consisted of three grant ranges: micro, entrepreneur and tiny enterprise.
