Tosha Dupras has been named dean of Texas Tech University‘s College or university of Arts & Sciences, the university announced [Friday] (Jan. 7). She begins in the function June 1.
Dupras has served as senior affiliate dean of the College of Central Florida’s Higher education of Sciences since October and as a professor in the Office of Anthropology since 2015. She formerly served as interim dean of the faculty and section chair. Dupras has been at the College of Central Florida considering the fact that 1999. Prior to that, she used one particular year as a browsing instructor at the College of Calgary.

A native of Canada, Dupras acquired her bachelor’s degree in archeology from Simon Fraser University in 1993, master’s degree in human biology from the College of Guelph in 1995 and her doctorate in anthropology from McMaster College in 1999. Her dissertation was nominated for the Canadian Distinguished Dissertation of the 12 months in 2000.
Her principal investigation target is the reconstruction of everyday living history, notably diet program, migration, illness and growth and development, by way of the assessment of steady isotopes and paleopathology. Dupras has been a member and co-director of the bioarcheology crew of the Dakhleh Oasis Project in Egypt considering that 1996 and has led the bioarcheology research portion of the Sai Island Mission in Sudan considering the fact that 2015.
