RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — A man has died next a Wednesday morning incident at a Dillard’s in Richmond.
According to Richmond officials, the servicing tech was operating on the escalator at the Dillard’s keep at Stony Point Style Park when he fell down the shaft. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the guy unresponsive.
He was pronounced useless on the scene.
Richmond’s specialized rescue team is on the scene doing work to discover extra and recover the system.
Virginia’s Occupational Basic safety and Well being Administration is investigating the incident.
