SoftBank posts record $23.4bn loss as tech selloff spreads

TOKYO — SoftBank Group on Monday posted a file loss for the 2nd straight quarter, as current market turmoil continued to distribute across its portfolio of engineering stocks.

The Japanese investment decision group noted a net decline of 3.16 trillion yen ($23.4 billion) in the April to June quarter, compared with 762 billion yen in web income for the very same interval a 12 months in the past. The losses have been steeper than the earlier quarter’s 2.1 trillion yen.
