Fayetteville, N.C. — A struggle about compensated parking is brewing in downtown Fayetteville among the town council and organization entrepreneurs.
The metropolis started collecting parking expenses from parking kiosks in July. Considering the fact that then, they have gathered a lot more than $45,000 in parking profits.
The city collects parking fees from 9am to 9pm day-to-day, like weekends. On the other hand, organization proprietors say that’s abnormal, and is hurting their bottom line.
They say the compensated parking, especially so late in the evening, is discouraging people from patronizing stores, restaurants and breweries in downtown.
Mayor Mitch Colvin says he and the city council are open to generating change to make the process superior.
