Pot producer Canopy Expansion to promote German medical marijuana enterprise

Dec 15 (Reuters) – Canopy Advancement Corp (WEED.TO), explained on Wednesday it would offer its German healthcare marijuana small business, C3 Cannabinoid Compound Co GmbH, to a European pharmaceutical company as the pot producer continues to cut costs and focus on its main Canadian marketplace.

Cover, which bought C3 in 2019 in an all-funds C$342.9 million ($266.52 million) offer, is marketing the device to Germany’s Dermapharm Keeping SE (DMPG.DE).

The firm will get an upfront payment of about C$115.5 million when the deal closes, predicted by Jan. 31, 2022, and up to C$61.4 million topic to the accomplishment of choose milestones by the C3 small business. (https://little bit.ly/3snKymn)

The unit’s earnings has slumped in latest quarters as lockdown steps in Germany restricted people’s ability to go to physicians and pharmacies. C3 revenue fell 13% to C$11.9 million in the most latest quarterly earnings reported by Canopy.
