Texas A&M’s yearly multicultural celebration, Fusion Fiesta, hosted in collaboration with the A&M Hispanic Presidents’ Council, the Asian Presidents’ Council and the Black College student Alliance Council, was stuffed with a large array of represented cultures, companies and performances from nations around the environment.

With a goal to educate folks about different traditions and cultures within just the pupil body, Fusion Fiesta held its once-a-year celebration in the Memorial Pupil Heart, or MSC, on Nov. 10. Many students packed the residence to just take element in the celebration and gathered collectively for the goal of cultural recognition. 

The event included a large quantity of student-lead cultural businesses, with a complete of 27 booths set up, for the celebration of the 14th 12 months of this diversified party, Fusion Fiesta organizer and English senior Jaelyn Lynch explained. 

“This is when all the unique cultural businesses are in a single place,” Lynch stated. “I sense like this is an possibility for learners to get exposed to corporations that are on campus because there are so many of them.” 

Multicultural inclusion was a significant concept pertaining to this campus-broad celebration. Pupils obtained to knowledge recognition and study extra about the backgrounds that make up A&M’s college student human body. 

Sponsored by The Affiliation of Previous Learners and administered by Multicultural Solutions of A&M’s Division of University student Affairs, attendees were being capable to interact and knowledge firsthand a representation of variety offered on campus.

“It’s fundamentally just a reflection of the various techniques we grew up, and we’re taught to have this delight in in which we appear from and who we are,” Lynch stated. “So I believe these cultural matters are essential simply because when you are put into a new atmosphere at times people like to take out from their tradition, and this [the event] just form of reinforces the actuality that tradition is almost everywhere you glance.”
