Pittsburgh’s Workplace of Group Health and Safety has hired three group social employees to aid in initiatives to address concerns encompassing wellbeing, protection and group obtain to treatment.
These 1st 3 group social employees will be focused on crisis co-response, this means they will support other to start with responders in answering unexpected emergency calls. They will also link persons with psychological and behavioral health methods, engage in pre-charge diversion referrals for youth and older people and give assist for survivors of crime.
The social personnel — Anmol Baxi, Elizabeth Curtis and Nathaniel Morley — will be a part of the OCH&S workforce in early January.
Baxi was beforehand a medical social worker at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside. In that purpose, Baxi worked closely with outpatient customers, conducting psychosocial assessments and responding to psychological and behavioral overall health crises. Baxi earlier served as an unexpected emergency section social worker and a behavioral wellbeing therapist for UPMC, linking patients with housing, domestic violence resources and other expert services.
Curtis, a licensed social employee with experience in casework, services coordination and psychological overall health remedy for pupils, has worked with Family members Backlinks Inc., Family members Means and Allegheny County Baby Youth and Relatives Providers. She also lately worked with Primary Treatment Wellness Providers, wherever she supported the county health and fitness department’s attempts to beat covid-19.
Morley has put in the earlier 17 years as a social worker with KidsVoice, a group that advocates for abused, neglected and at-chance youngsters in court docket and in the increased local community. He also worked on the FamilyLinks Mobile Crisis Team, exactly where he responded to community crisis phone calls. He has certifications in Complete Disaster Management, Non-Violent Bodily Disaster Prevention and Intervention, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Psychological 1st-Aid.
