Operator of Tuscaloosa motel agrees to surrender his business license

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Tuscaloosa metropolis leaders announced the operator of the Masters Inn will surrender his business license on or ahead of February 15th of 2022.

Masters Inn has manufactured headlines above the decades for arrests related to prison activity like several prostitution stings.

Dozens of other hazards and code violations pressured the city to get action. They involved structurally unsafe balconies. Cockroaches and bed bugs infested various rooms. Fire walls removed in some spots and single rooms have been transformed into a 3-bedroom condominium.

A advice to shut the motel down arrived from the Code Enforcement Division of the Tuscaloosa Police Division and the city’s Urban Progress Office.

The Town Councilman for the district states the circumstance can not be authorized to continue on.

“Our citizens are entitled to far better than that, so we experienced to set a strategy in to motion. And of training course, we could not do nearly anything outside of the regulation to make this matter take place. We just abided by the law and which is what finally have us the victory,” Cassius Lanier instructed WBRC.

The metropolis will dismiss some citations from the company and fork out its court prices. Lanier said new owners with no connections to present-day entrepreneurs will come in and make huge alterations to the two properties that make up the Masters Inn.
