ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Guides by the Pound does precisely what you’d expect– by selling publications by the pound. The keep held its gentle opening Saturday.

The Coombes family members says they appreciate studying and didn’t like the thought of these textbooks ending up in the landfill. So, they decided to place them in large packing containers hoping the guides get liked all over again.

“We have all of our guides sorted by genre and people today go in. They’re in fantastic big packing containers. They dig as a result of the packing containers and they come across what they want,” reported Co-owner Monica Coombes. “It’s a treasure hunt just about every time you arrive in. Every little thing is restocked all the time throughout the 7 days. So, it’s not always gonna be the same stuff below.”

You can go to the bookstore Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you never want to check out the store, you can store online.
