Orange and Rockland Utilities say they are well prepared for Sunday night’s storm with crews and new technologies to assist retain tree limbs off of wires.
The utility says they started employing spacer cables just after Superstorm Sandy. The cables bundles the wires so when a branch hits them, it is much more possible to bounce off than pull them down.
Spokesman Mike Donovan suggests the big problem will be ice on the wires.
