CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Parkways Authority will get started deal negotiations quickly with a seller who could sooner or later be hired to operate the journey plazas on the West Virginia Turnpike.

The Parkways Authority just lately gave its workers the approval to start off talks with reps of Regions Usa. The company scored the best of the proposals obtained by Parkways in its Request for Proposals method.
“As the board authorized that we’ll start negotiations,” Parkways Authority Executive Director Jeff Miller said.
The travel plazas offer gasoline, food items, lavatory amenities and other goods for tourists.
The recent vacation plazas contract is held by Applegreen which acquired HMSHost leases nationwide last summertime.
Miller mentioned they’ve got some time to full negotiations with Places Usa.
“We’ve bought right up until February 2023 for the new operator to take over,” he reported.
Miller said Parkways can switch to other sellers who submitted proposals if they just cannot arrive at an appropriate lease with Spots.
“As with all small business agreements, if for some rationale we weren’t able to attain agreement with them, we would transfer on down the list with these selected,” he claimed.
There are a few travel plazas on the 88-mile toll road like the Morton Vacation Plaza in Kanawha County, the Beckley Travel Plaza in the vicinity of Tamarack in Raleigh County and the Bluestone Journey Plaza in Mercer County.
The lease also covers the Turnpike relaxation prevent and snack bar located southbound on the Kanawha-Fayette county line a number of miles north of the Mahan exit.
