OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Virginia Tech’s Justyn Mutts has been selected as a applicant for the 2021-22 Senior Class Award, as introduced Tuesday.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Accomplishment for Being in School®, the Senior Course Award focuses on the complete scholar-athlete and encourages college students to use their platform in athletics to make a good impression as leaders in their communities. 

Mutts, a graduate pupil from Millville, N.J., was named one of 30 NCAA Division I men’s basketball scholar-athletes in competition for the award. The Senior Class Award acknowledges seniors that have noteworthy achievements in four areas of excellence: neighborhood, classroom, character and levels of competition.

From the record of 30 candidates, a committee will select 10 finalists for the Senior Course Award in February. Those 10 names will then be positioned on the formal ballot for a nationwide vote. Admirer balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the receiver of the award.
