Mary Grant, a resident at the Colony Health care Center in Tallmadge, celebrated her 103rd birthday on Xmas Day with relatives and neighbors. 

She also received birthday cards from Tallmadge Elementary College fourth-graders. 

Grant was born on Dec. 25, 1918, and has five sisters and 1 brother. Her son Eric Grant also lives at the Colony. 

She moved from the South at a pretty younger age and spent the rest of her life in Akron. 

In her early 50s, she and her husband Earl purchased a dry cleansing business enterprise in Akron and identified as it Cleaning Reasonable. 

After the enterprise closed, Mary and Earl walked each morning until eventually he died. 

She has been at the Colony since September.
