Malta grew to become the very first European region to make it possible for restricted cultivation and possession of cannabis for individual use, following a vote in parliament on Tuesday.
Luxembourg declared comparable ideas in Oct but its parliament has yet to give its eco-friendly light to the measure.
The regulation, which was accredited by 36 votes to 27, permits grown ups in Malta to possess up to seven grams (.25 oz) of cannabis and expand up to four plants.
