LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kobe Bryant was 1 of the most photogenic athletics figures in Los Angeles and photographs of him seen by thousands and thousands close to the globe — smiling in victory, grimacing in agony — continue to keep his memory alive.

But some photographs of him must hardly ever be witnessed, his widow suggests, and she’s looking for unspecified millions in compensation for snapshots taken of the NBA star’s corpse that were circulated soon after he was killed in a helicopter crash with their daughter and 7 others in 2020.

Vanessa Bryant’s invasion of privacy trial against the Los Angeles County sheriff’s and hearth departments starts Wednesday in a U.S. District Courtroom just over a mile from exactly where Kobe Bryant played most of his profession with the Lakers.
