Kiwanis Club Hears Of Boerigters’ Journey – Los Alamos Reporter

Kiwanians Steve and Kathy Boerigter enjoy global vacation, and even the pandemic has not slowed them down. They spoke at a Kiwanis conference on July 19, outlining a modern trip that spanned many international locations.

In March, they were in the United Kingdom. They rented a car or truck in London and accomplished the challenging obstacle (at least to US motorists) of braving the “wrong” aspect of the street and the roundabouts all the way to Edinburgh, Scotland.

Although in Edinburgh, the visited the castle, walked several parts of the city, and partook of the foods and drink in the city’s taverns. Whilst making their way back south, they frequented the York Minster, the summer months house of Albert and Victoria, the aged Roman town of bathtub, Stonehenge, and Windsor Castle.

The Boerigters ended up amazed by the age of the properties, the excessive prosperity of the monarchy at the peak of its power, and, past but not minimum, the delicious and international food they liked.

Following a temporary return to the states, they ended up finalizing the details for a trip to Japan, but found out that the nation has not yet opened to western vacationers. After some last-minute negotiations with the air carrier, they modified their plans and traveled as an alternative to Sweden, Denmark, and Sweden. Among the highlights of their Scandinavian experience was a fantastic museum that showcased a sunken battleship built by King Gustav, who copied its structure from ships in the British fleet.

And Japan? It’s continue to shut to holidaymakers, but the Boerigters continue to strategy to go there.
