Grossmont College or university Marks Milestone, Topping Out $37 Million Science, Tech Project

Grossmont School celebrated the topping of its new science, math and vocation technologies complex Friday to mark a milestone in the $37.1 million construction task.

“This topping out illustrates how Grossmont College or university carries on to increase in our group,” explained university President Denise Whisenhunt. “A image of growth and newness – this is what this ceremony is about.”

Whisenhunt also invited school and district officers to sign up for her in autographing the steel beam in advance of it was hoisted – an age-previous construction tradition.

The 59,000-square-foot composition, distribute across twin structures, will develop classroom, lab and office environment spaces for several plans like actual physical geography and oceanography, human geography and social sciences, math and geology.

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Local community University District Chancellor Lynn Neault said the new undertaking updates a cluster of ageing properties poorly in need of renovation and reconstruction to accommodate new technologies and other urgent pupil requirements.
