Gov. Kay Ivey ‘doing great’ as rumors swirl about health and fitness

A spokeswoman for Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey reported the governor was “undertaking excellent” as rumors spread in Montgomery federal government circles about her wellbeing. 

The statement came right after AL.com claimed Thursday that the governor’s business office and the governor’s re-election marketing campaign had not responded to various inquiries about the governor’s wellness, or her whereabouts over the earlier week.

“When it’s a gradual information working day in the summer time, rumors operate rampant in the Capital City,” Gina Maiola, Ivey’s communications director, wrote in a statement. “Although I did not want to give any believability to these bogus rumors, I do want to be sure to distinct the air and set the report straight.
