Gadsden says goodbye to community business operator Sandy Self

The Gadsden-Etowah County community claimed goodbye Tuesday to Sandra “Sandy” Self, who distinguished herself with two corporations in downtown Gadsden about the many years, and as an energetic member of the neighborhood.

Self died Dec. 15, just weeks following celebrating her 71st birthday. Her funeral assistance was Tuesday.

Sandy and her husband, Mike Self, owned and operated The Alternative Restaurant — creating an eatery that is a staple carries on to be a fixture in downtown Gadsden underneath new ownership — for 25 many years as they elevated their 3 children.

Just after Self retired from a career as a financial advisor, she adopted her passion of antiquing into a further downtown small business — Gadsden Wide variety Antique Mall.
