Fireplace strikes Griff’s Propane outdoors Watertown, spreads to neighboring small business

City OF PAMELIA, New York (WWNY) – Two organizations on Condition Route 3 just exterior Watertown had been ruined by a raging hearth that started about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Fireplace officials inform 7 Information it started off when staff at Griff’s Propane Exchange were being managing a propane tank they thought to empty. It wasn’t, and fuel started spewing from the tank, eventually igniting.

Jefferson County Fire and Unexpected emergency Management Director Joe Plummer suggests staff had been in a position to get out of the company properly.

The fire spread swiftly, sending a thick plume of black smoke into the air that could be witnessed all about Watertown.

Officers say the blaze distribute to a warehouse operated by neighboring Overhead Doorway Corporation. The warehouse was absolutely wrecked.
