FORT SMITH — Invoice and Jo Neumeier closed Neumeier Nursery and Florist previous thirty day period after 54 decades in the blooming business enterprise.

The Neumeiers’ daughter, Lisa Hearn, observed the buddy was Clancy Armstrong, who later started off Expressions Bouquets off of Garrison Avenue.

“So Clancy would appear to work each morning with a massive block of ice, and we set a fan in the cooler and blew it onto the ice to keep our flowers cool,” she said. “We did that every early morning. And last but not least, we experienced ample money to invest in a compressor, so we place that on and ended up off and jogging.”
Hearn remembered other unconventional moments about residing and doing the job at the nursery, together with earning pots out of roofing for customers to take them household, because plastic pots were not designed at the time. They also grew to become recyclers early-on.
