AMSTERDAM, Dec 8 (Reuters) – The Dutch federal government has put aside 175 million euros for the invest in of a “leading” painting by Rembrandt, the ministry of education reported in a letter to parliament on Wednesday.
The director of the Dutch Countrywide Museum informed reporters the painting in issue is Rembrandt’s 1636 operate De Vaandeldrager, or “Standard Bearer”, at present owned by the Rothschild family.
