Back again in July, a likeminded team of company proprietors and neighborhood members in Penn Yan met in work to provide the Retail Council to existence yet again. Because the team at first met, meetings have been transpiring regularly and a program was put into place to bring year-round gatherings and promoting to entice people to the Downtown Penn Yan area.
Their initially formal gatherings, Trunk or Treat and the Fall Pageant were being a great success. Some other thrilling gatherings to assume starting in 2022 are every month 1st Fridays, Wing Stroll, Sidewalk Sale, Group Desk Dinner and mor.
The team renamed them selves as the “Downtown Organization Council” so that they would be much more inclusive to distinct sorts of companies other than retail, that are located within the Downtown Penn Yan perimeters. A Board of Directors and many committees have been formed to aid in escalating and strengthening the council. The Yates County Chamber of Commerce formally voted the Downtown Business Council of Penn Yan as a sub-committee of the Chamber to assist the group with administration and marketing as they proceed to build on their own.
