LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Payton Circumstance was celebrating her 18th birthday on Wednesday when she discovered out her father, Benjamin J. Situation, had been shot and killed the evening right before at Branched Oak Lake.

Channel 8 spoke with Circumstance about why she wants her father to be remembered for his exciting, satisfied spirit and generally wanting to be on the water.

“He was obsessed with currently being out at the lake,” Scenario explained. “He lived out on his boat for a handful of many years now. He cherished getting all of his buddies on the boat.”

Payton was on the boat just an hour just before her father was shot. She is happy that justice will hopefully be done.

“I did not anticipate the arrest to be so fast possibly,” Situation reported. “I was expecting it to consider a when, but it did not. I am glad that they found him.”

Very last Wednesday evening, a vigil was held at the lake for Ben. Candles were being place around the dock the place he saved his boat, and some of his most loved new music was performed.

Payton explained to us all the folks who were there and the stories that had been instructed. She is emotion beloved by other individuals all all over her.

“He was generally entertaining to be all around each time I was out there,” she mentioned. “I was always owning enjoyable no make a difference if we ended up just sitting there are speaking. The lake was often his place.”
