AMHERST, N.Y. — Danahy’s has been a staple in fashion in Western New York, and after 97 decades in company, it announced Thursday they would be closing in the spring.
Liz Lennon, President at Danahy’s, reported in a letter to prospects that the uncertainty of the effects of COVID, and their lease staying up this this year, they produced the tricky decision to close in the spring.

Danahy’s was established by Mabel Danahy and her sister in 1925. Their initial spot was on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo. The business was offered in 1961 to new homeowners. In 1996, Danahy’s moved to the Northtown Plaza on Sheridan Travel just after 72 many years on Delaware Avenue.
