PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) – Church buildings from Maryland and North Carolina have descended on Pikeville as Grateful Hearts Food items Pantry hosted its 20th Christmas Giveaway in the Pikeville Region YMCA gym on Saturday. The non-financial gain gave absent wintertime outfits, blankets, toys, and a lot more to individuals in need.

Numerous yrs in the past, a church team from North Carolina arrived to Jap Kentucky for a yard bible research, but the team was looking for a way to serve the little group for the duration of the daytime on its vacation.

The good news is, the group stumbled on Thankful Hearts Food items Pantry as it was making ready for its annual Back-to-School Giveaway in July.

Soon after, as a result of loved ones connections at churches throughout the county, church buildings from Maryland made the decision to hop in and lead to the mission vacation.

“It’s a custom for us. Just about every Christmas Giveaway,” explained Affiliate Pastor Greg Cochran of Woodbrook Baptist Church of Baltimore, Md., “We average 10 to 15 youth that arrives down alongside with a couple of grown ups.”

Together with a countrywide existence, loads of people from Pike County joined in on serving their personal community together with Thankful Hearts such as some UPIKE health-related college and undergraduate learners.
