Bundle up! Some Arctic air is surging into Environmentally friendly Region to kick off the new 12 months.
Temperatures are in freefall mode Saturday. In the Tulsa metro, we’ll fall into the 20s for the duration of the afternoon with stiff north winds pushing wind chills into the teenagers and single digits.
Any afternoon precipitation will be a lot lighter than what we had early this morning, but some patches of freezing drizzle will be feasible throughout northeastern Oklahoma.
A secondary band of mild to average snow will transfer across japanese Oklahoma later tonight, most most likely from about the 9 p.m. to midnight timeframe. Any accumulation would be insignificant for most of us, but a number of localized spots west and southwest of Tulsa could see a speedy coating of ½” or so of snow on grassy surfaces.

That snow will taper off to flurries early Sunday morning with bitter cold disorders. We’ll have lows in the lower teens with wind chills underneath zero Sunday early morning.
