In the 4-webpage handwritten note dated Dec. 6, 1858, to his buddy, the architect and member of parliament Joseph Paxton, he describes a meal held in Dickens’ honour that Paxton was persuaded to keep away from over political issues.

“He’s creating in somewhat form of colourful phrases to express his frustration about why issues have long gone mistaken and paints rather a vibrant picture of the regional businessman who appears to be to have created a mess of the total detail – a gentleman called Whitten.

“It gives a flavour of Christmas, it gives a flavour of Dickens as in his community persona, and it offers that form of flash of composing means that you truly want from Dickens – the sort of colour and pleasure of a bizarre nearby incident.”
