On Wednesday, Nov. 17, members of 100 Women of all ages Who Treatment Southern Delaware (now at 103 and developing) gathered at La Esperanza in Georgetown to award $9,255 to Jennifer Fuqua, executive director of La Esperanza. The cash will be utilized to assistance immigrants on their pathway to citizenship, integration and results, via their DOJ-accredited immigration counseling providers.
La Esperanza (https://www.laesperanzacenter.org) was founded in 1996 by 3 Carmelite sisters, Sister Rosa, Sister Maria and Sister Ascension. “It has stood, at any time since, as a beacon of hope (esperanza), supporting the growing Hispanic neighborhood from Central and South America in Southern Delaware.”
“This grant is a lifeline for services that are so significant to our local community,” reported Fuqua. “In 2021, we have served a lot more than 500 local community customers via these expert services, and assisted 25 persons in getting to be citizens this year. The donations…
