GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A new taskforce comprised of company, education and community leaders is crafting a program to elevate and improve West Michigan’s technological innovation sector.
The taskforce is remaining led by The Ideal Area, a Grand Rapids-based economic development company, and is co-chaired by Gentex CEO Steve Downing and Davenport College President Rick Papas. A 10-year strategy, expected to be released by March, will spotlight strategies to develop and retain expert workers, foster entrepreneurship and innovation, and enable enterprises develop.
